1980-0421 0 . 46 ORDINANCE NO. 80 -42 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE FIREMEN'S PENSION FUND OF THE VILLAGE OF-BUFFALO GROVE WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove through Ordinance 79 -54 and Chapter 2.50 of the Buffalo Grove Municipal Code, created a municipal fire department; and WHEREAS, in each municipality in the State of Illinois that qualifies under the Firemen's Pension Fund Act of 1919 must establish and administer a firemen's pension fund. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, the following: SECTION 1 Village of Buffalo Grove Ordinance Number 80 -33 is hereby repealed in its entirety. SECTION 2 There is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the Village of Buffalo Grove to Title 2 a new Chapter 2.51 to read as follows: Chapter 2.51 Firemen's Pension Fund 2.51.010 Creation of Fund. The Board of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove shall establish and administer a firemen's pension fund for the benefit of the firemen and their widows, children and other certain dependents. 2.51.020 Board Created. There shall be a firemen's pension oar consisting of nine members to admin- ister the fund. They shall be the President of the Board of Trustees, Village Clerk, Village Attorney, Village Treasurer, and Chief of the fire department. In addition to the above, three other persons shall be chosen by the active firemen and one other person chosen from those firemen retired. 2.51.030 Members - Service, Appointment Governed by Law. T e'members of the firemen's pension hoard shi awl serve and be appointed or elected in the man- ner provided by law, 2.51.04`0 Duties--and Powers.
