AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #69 -11
BEING AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING THE MUNICIPAL
RETAILERS OCCUPATION TAX
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 736 (Public Act 80 -1292) effective
August 2, 1978, has been adopted by the Illinois General Assembly,
and
WHEREAS, said Act amends Section 8 -11 -1 of the Illinois
Municipal Code, and
WHEREAS, said amendments provide that certain described
manufacturing machinery and equipment is excluded from the Munici-
pal Retailers Occupation Tax, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Village of Buffalo Grove
that such machinery and equipment remain subject to said taxes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties,
Illinois:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance #69 -11 and Section
3.16,010 of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code
are amended to read as follows:
Section 3.16,010 Imposition Rate. A Tax is hereby
imposed upon all persons engaged in the business of
selling tangible personal property at retail in this
Village at the rate of one per cent (la) of the gross
receipts from such sales made in the course of such
business while this ordinance is in effect, in accord-
ance with the provisions of Section 8-11 -1 of the
Illinois Municipal Code. The exclusion contained
in Section 2(d) of the "Retailers Occupation Tax
Act" approved June 28, 1933 as amended shall not
apply within the Village of Buffalo Grove.

SECTION 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
to the State Department of Revenue a certified copy of
this ordinance not later than five (5) days after the
effective date of this Ordinance,
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval according to law, and
publication as required.

Act" approved June 28, 1933 as amended shall not
apply within the Village of Buffalo Grove.
