ATTEST: Village Clerk -6- Village President ORDINANCE NO. 78 - 71 0 AN ORDINANCE calling a special election to be held in and for the Village of Buffalo.Grove, Cook and lake Counties, Illinois, on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1978. WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable and necessary and for the best interests of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties, Illinois, that vacant land be acquired at the south-east corner of the intersection of Arlington Heights Road and Checker Road in the Village of Buffalo Grove to be utilized as a public park; and WHEREAS, it has heretofore been estimated by the President and Board of Trustees that it will cost not less than $1,050,000 to pay the cost of acquiring the land for such municipal purpose; and WHEREAS, funds are not available for such project and it will be necessary for the Village to borrow money and issue bonds therefor, and before said Village can issue bonds to pay the cost the question must be submitted to the electors of said Village and be approved by a majority of the electors voting on said question at an election called for that purpose: NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. There shall be borrowed for, by and on behalf of said Village the sum of $1,050,000 for the purpose of paying the cost of acquiring land at the southeast corner of the intersection of Arlington Heights Road. and Checker Road in the Village of Buffalo Grove to be utilized as a public park, and to evidence said loan negotiable bonds of said Village shall be issued in such-amount. Each of said bonds shall be designated "General Obligation Bond" and bear interest from date at the rate of not to exceed seven per cent (.7 %) per annum.. 0 Section 2. The question of issuing $1,050,000 General Obligation Bonds, as hereinabove described, shall be submitted to the legal voters of said Village at a special election which is hereby called to be held in and for said Village on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1978, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A.M. and 6:00 o'clock P.M. of said day, said election to be held on the same day as the general election. Section I.
