1976-02300 0 • ORDINANCE NO. 76 23 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 0 -69 -17 BEING AN ORDINANCE CREATING A BOARD OF HEALTH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 0 -69 -17 "Board of Health" is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 2. The Board of Health of the Village shall consist of not less than five (5) nor more than seven (7) members appointed by the Village President by and with the approval of the Board of Trustees. The terms of the members now serving shall, in each instance expire on April 30th following the termination of their present term. Thereafter all reappointments and new appointments shall be for a term of three (3) years to run from May lst to the appropriate April 30th. Terms of appointments shall be staggered. One -third (1/3) of the members, but not more than two (2) members shall be appointed in any one year unless required .by death or resignation. One member may be a physician, legally licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and practicing or residing within the Village. The other members may be a dentist, nurse, pharmacist, registered sanitarian or other person in allied medical speciality, with the exception that if the foregoing persons are not available a competent and interested person of the community shall be appointed in their place. (The Health Officer of the Village will be an official member of the Board and will attend its meetings.) SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
