1972-042f } ORDINANCE NO. 72 -42 AN ORDINANCE VACATING PORTIONS OF OLD'POST DRIVE AND CARRIAGEWAY DRIVE WHEREAS certain portions of Old Post Drive and Car - riageway Drive within the Village have been dedicated but.not improved or accepted by the Village, and ir1HEREAS the improvement and use of portions of the streets that are herein proposed to be vacated would greatly increase vehicular traffic through densely populated areas in- cluding in the area of the Mill Creek Grammar School, and WHEREAS` such increase in vehicular traffic would be potentially dangerous to the health and welfare of the public, and will add to the cost of maintenance of streets and appur- tenances, and WHEREAS in, the considered opinion of the President and Board of Trustees it is determined that the public interest will be sub- served by vacating the portions of the streets here- inafter described. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS. SECTION 1. The following described portions of Old Post.. Drive and Carriageway Drive are not needed by the Village for road purposes and are hereby declared to be vacated. OLD POST DRIVE: That part of Section 8,,Township 42 North,, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian bounded by a line des- cribed as follows'. Commencing at a point on the East line of the West 28 acres of the NE 1/4 of said Section 8, 861.02 feet North of the North line of the West 112 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 8, as measured along said East line; thence North 000 -031- 09" East, along said East line, 65.95 feet; thence South 650 32' -02" West, 51.94 feet; thence South 240- 27' -58" East, 60.0 feet, y. e- A thence North 650- 32' -02" East, 24.57 feet to the point of beginning, all in the Village of Buffalo Grove and Cook County, Illinois. The Village reserves to itself a permanent easement and right -of -way over, under and upon said vacated portion for the construction,. repair, replacement and maintenance of water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, gas, electric and telephone utili ties, facilities and appurtenances thereto. CARRIAGEWAY DRIVE That part of Section 8, Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian bounded by a line described as follows: Commencing at a point on the North line of the West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 8, 115.0 feet West of the East 'line of the West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 8, as measured along said North line; thence South 00 0 - Ol' -34" West, 68.0 feet; thence North 890- 32' -59" West, along a line parallel to said North line; 60.O feet, thence North 000- 01' -34" East, 68.0 feet to a point.on said North line of West 1/2 of the South. east 1/4. of said Section 8; thence South 890- 32' -59" East along said North line, 60.0 feet to the point of beginning, all in the Village of Buffalo Grove and Cook County, Illinois. The Village reserves to itself a permanent easement and right -of -way over, under and upon said vacated portion for the construction,' repair, replacement and maintenance of water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, gas, electric and telephone utili- ties, facilities and appurtenances thereto. SECTION 2. The title to said vacated portions is hereby declared to be vested in the owners of the land abutting thereon on the effective date of this ordinance as per statute. , SEECTION 3.
