1971-023ORDINANCE NO. 7l.—.23 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 68 -49 (VEHICLE ORDINANCE AS AMENDED. BE AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1. Section 6 of-Ordinance No. 68 -19 (Vehicle Ordinance) is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 6: Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this Ordinance shall be fined not less than $15.00 nor more than $500.00 for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues. PADDOCK PUBLICATIONS, INC. h - By )�44 — , ', , ___ - 1" L Treasurer. ,7- 1 J September 3, 1971 TO: President and Board of Trustees RE: Proposed Increase in Fines for Non - Registration of Motor Vehicles At its August 25th meeting the Legislative Committee endorsed Treasurer Collins' recommendation to raise from $5.00 to $15.00 the penalty for non - compliance with the Village's requirement for motor vehicles to purchase registration stickers. Mr. Collins pointed out that the current fine was in existence when the price of a sticker was only $2.00 or $3.00 dollars, and that when the cost of stickers was raised, a corresponding change in the amount of the fine was overlooked. I believe that implementation of this recommendation would be a good idea, and I propose therefore that we instruct Mr. Raysa to prepare an appropriate amend- ment.
