TO: President and Board of Trustees
RE: Proposed Increase in Fines for Non - Registration of
Motor Vehicles
At its August 25th meeting the Legislative Committee
endorsed Treasurer Collins' recommendation to raise
from $5.00 to $15.00 the penalty for non - compliance
with the Village's requirement for motor vehicles
to purchase registration stickers. Mr. Collins
pointed out that the current fine was in existence
when the price of a sticker was only $2.00 or $3.00
dollars, and that when the cost of stickers was raised,
a corresponding change in the amount of the fine was
overlooked.
I believe that implementation of this recommendation
would be a good idea, and I propose therefore that
we instruct Mr. Raysa to prepare an appropriate amend-
ment.
