ORDINANCE # 68-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
FENCE ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance #0 -60 -2 as amended
is hereby further amended to read as follows:
Section 2. (a) No fence or structure shall be erected
within twenty -five (25) feet of any street or closer to such
street than the building line, whichever distance is greater;
provided, however, when the rear and front of a lot are each
on a public highway it shall be permissable to erect a fence
up to the lot line at the rear of the lot.
(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of
Section 2(a), ornamental fences shall be permitted, provided
application for the erection of same shall first be made to
the Building Commissioner. Said application shall contain a
sketch of same showing location on lot, size, design and
material to be used. No permit shall be issued for construction
of an ornamental fence greater than three feet In height and 20
feet of continuous length. No fee shall be charged for such
permit.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage, approval and publication according to law.
