1967-008ORDINANCE NO. 0 -67 -, i AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS, THE QUESTION OF WHETHER THE VILLAGE.OF BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS, SHALL ADOPT ARTICLE 3 OF THE ILLINOIS PENSION CODE PERTAINING TO THE CREATION OF A POLICE PENSION FUND. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS: Sectionl. The Village will not have an official census of the Village until the end of 1967. A petition signed by electors of the Village, equal in number to 5/ of the number of legal votes cast at the last preceding general municipal election in the Village, has been filed with the Village Clerk. Section 2. Accordingly and pursuant to Chapter 1082, Article 3, a special election is called to be held in and for the Village of Buffalo Grove on Tuesday, April 18, 1967, between the hours of 6 A.M. and 6 P.M. for the purpose of submitting to the electors I the following proposition: "Shall the Village of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, adopt Article 3 of the Illinois Pension Code. (Chapter 108% Illinois Revised Statutes 1965) pertaining to the creation of a police pension fund." Section 3. For the purpose of the election, the territory within the Village is divided into 2 election precincts, the boundaries and polling places of which shall be as follows: Precinct No. 1: Comprising all of that part of the Village of Buffalo Grove in Cook County not included. in Precinct No. 2. Polling Place: Ranch Mart Community Room Buffalo `Grove Road Buffalo Grove, Illinois -1- Precinct No. 2: Comprising all of that part of the Village of Buffalo Grove in Lake County and all of that part of the Village in Cook County lying west of the line described as follows: starting at a point where the extended center- line of Raupp Boulevard intersects the Cook- Lake County boundary, thence southeasterly along said extended centerline to Raupp Boule- vard, thence southeasterly and southerly along the centerline of Raupp Boulevard to the point of intersection with the centerline of Golf view Terrace, thencd southwesterly and southerly along the centerline of Golfview Terrace to the south side of Dundee Road. The judges of election shall be such as shall be hereafter designated by the President and Board of Trustees to serve as election offmcials. Section 5. The President and Village Clerk are authorized and directed to give notice of the special election by publishing a notice thereof not more than thirty nor less than fifteen days in advance of the election in the Wheeling Herald, a newspaper of general circulation within the Village of Buffalo Grove, there being no newspaper published within the Village of Buffalo Grove.
