1965-008ORDINANCE NO. 65 -
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 60- S , BEING
ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING A POLICE DEPARTMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, STATE OF ILLINOIS.
Section 1. Section 7 (b) is hereby amended to
read as follows:
(b) Regular Reserve Policeman: A Regular Reserve
Policeman is a member of the Police Department
serving on a voluntary or part -time basis. The
offices of Lieutenant and Sergeant may be occupied
by members of the Police Department on such a reserve
status basis. The number of members occupying such
offices shall be determined by the Chief of Police by
and with the consent of the President and Board of
Trustees.
No person shall be eligible to serve as a Regular
Reserve Policeman until he has served a minimum of
six months as a Special Policeman.
Effective June 1, 1965, Regular Reserve Policemen
shall be paid in accordance with the following
scale:
Lieutenants $ 60.00 per month
Sergeants 40.00 per month
Patrolmen 20.00 per month
Radio Operators and
Station Officers 5.00 per month
The wage scale hereinabove set forth shall be effective
only after a regular Reserve Policeman has served five
duty tours during the course of a calendar month.
In the event a Policeman fails to perform a duty
tour, he may provide a qualified substitute and the
substitute shall receive $4.00 per duty tour,
which amount shall be deducted from the salary of
the Policeman.
Section 2. Section 7 is further amended by adding
thereto the following paragraph:

(d) All Policemen required to attend court
on days other than the regular court day
allotted to the Village, which attendance
results in time and salary loss from regular
employment, shall be reimbursed for loss of
salary at the rate of $2.00 per hour without
employer verification. Where the loss of
salary is verified by the employer, Policemen
shall be reimbursed the full amount of salary
loss as a result of such attendance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval.
