PLAN COMM SSION
BE IT OHDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, that:
Section 1. There is hereby created a Plan Commission
for the Village which shall consist of the Village President and
the President of the Board of Local Improvements, who shall be
ex- officio members thereof as provided by statute, and five additional
members, who shall be appointed by the President with the consent of
the Board of Trustees. Each member shall serve for a term of four
(4) years, or until his successor is appointed and qualified, provided
that of the first appointed members, two (2) shall serve four (4)
years, two (2) shall serve three (3) years, and one (1) shall serve
two (2) years.
Section 2. Quorum). A majority of the Plan Commission
shall consitute a quorum, but no final action shall be taken on any
measure before it except with the concurrence of a majority of the
members. The Chairman shall vote with the other members of the
Commission.
Section 3. Meetings). The Plan Commission shall meet at
such time as it may determine. Special meetings may be called by
the Village President, the Chairman, or by any two members of the
Commission. If a quorum is present at any special meeting, written
notice thereof shall be deemed waived*
Section 4. Powers). The Plan Commission shall have power:
(a) to prepare and recommend to the Village Board
a comprehensive plan of public improvements looking to
the present and future development of the Village, and to
provide reasonable requirements in reference to streets,

alleys, and public grounds, in unsubdivided lands
within the corporate limits and in contiguous territory
outside and distant not more than one and one�half (12)
miles from the corporate limits of the Village, insofar
as the same are not included in any city, village or
incorporated towns. After its adoption by the Village
Board, this shall be known as the Official Plan.
(b) to recommend from time to time changes in
any official plan adopted by the Village Board.
(c) to prepare and recommend to the Village
Board from time to time plans for specific improvements
in pursuance of such official plan.
(d) to exercise such other powers as may be
provided by statute or ordinance.
Section 5. Rules). The Plan Commission may adopt rules
regulating the procedure of all meetings of the Plan Commission.
Such rules shall be filed in the Office of the Village Clerk and
may be amended at any meetings, such rules to be effective upon filing
in the office of the Clerk.
Section 6. Plats). No map or plat of any subdivision
presented for record affecting lands within the corporate limits
or any contiguous territory outside of and distant not more than
one and one -half (1 *) miles from the corporate limits of the Village
shall be approved by the Village Board or be entitled to record or
shall be valid unless such subdivision shall provide for streets,
alleys and public grounds in conformity with such Official Plan.
A certificate of such conformity shall be executed by the Village

Clerk upon proof of such conformity.
