AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE
TITLE 17 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS
CONCERNING PRESCHOOL /ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
AS A SPECIAL USE IN THE B -2 DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois
Constitution of 1970; and,
WHEREAS, the Village has determined that an amendment to .the Village Zoning
Ordinance, Title 17 of the Buffalo Grove Municipal Code, is necessary concerning the addition
of Preschool /Elementary School as a special use in the B -2 District; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Plan Commission conducted a public hearing on August 7, 2013,
concerning said amendment and determined that the proposed amendment is appropriate to
allow the use of a Preschool /Elementary School in the B -2 District, and the Plan Commission has
forwarded its findings and recommendations to the Village Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. Subsection C. of Section 17.44.030, Special Uses of the Buffalo Grove
Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding the following:
20. Preschool /Elementary School - A public, private or parochial institution for
preschool and up to and including grade 8, which offers instruction in any of the
branches of learning and study as taught in the public schools under the Illinois State
Board of Education.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication. This ordinance may be published in pamphlet form.
