2008-0305/27/2008 o • ORDINANCE NO. 2008 — 30 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS Amendments Adding Landscape Waste Transfer Station as a special use In the Industrial District WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit by virtue of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and, WHEREAS, notice of public hearing for the consideration of certain text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance was given and the public hearing was held; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS: Section 1. Chapter 17.12, entitled 'Definitions," of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties, Illinois, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding the following new sections: 17.12.316 Landscape Waste. Any accumulation of grass or shrubbery cuttings, leaves, tree limbs, or other materials accumulated as the result of the care of lawns, shrubbery, vines, or trees. L� owt 17.12.317 Landscape Waste Transfer Station. An open air site or facility that: (i) accepts Landscape Waste, and no other waste, for temporary storage or consolidation and further transfer to another site, facility, or vehicle; (ii) is used for the outdoor and indoor storage, transfer and retail sale of compost, mulch, stone, nursery stock, supplies and related landscape material (but not including building material sales); and (iii) is permitted and operated in accordance with all applicable laws, including without limitation Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) requirements. Section 2. Section 17.48.020.C, concerning special uses in the Industrial District, of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Buffalo Grove, of Cook and Lake Counties, Illinois, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding the following additional special use: 21. Landscape Waste Transfer Station. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after its passage and approval according to law.
