AN ORDINANCE REGARDING PUBLIC SIGNS AT THE
VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE VILLAGE HALL AND ADJACENT PUBLIC PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois Constitution of
1970; and
WHEREAS, Section 14.36.010.M, Public Signs, of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code, provides
for the Village to authorize signs on public property for a public purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Village previously adopted Ordinance No. 2005 -50 on August 1, 2005 authorizing the
placement of identification ground signs on the Municipal Campus; and
WHEREAS, the Village desires to provide for the placement of banners on the Village Hall, owned and
operated by the Village of Buffalo Grove in order to promote special events sponsored by the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village further desired to provide for the placement of banners that will either be pole or
fence mounted on property owned by the Village of Buffalo Grove to promote public safety initiatives and
programs; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Buffalo Grove that the proposed
banners continue to serve a public purpose and benefit the residents of the Village of Buffalo Grove.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1. The Village Hall banners, to be hung at the southeast and northeast corners of the Village Hall,
with a size of approximately 54" x 96" are hereby authorized and said banners hereby qualify as public signs
pursuant to Section 14.36.010.M of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code.
Section 2. Public safety banners, to be post mounted on public property owned by the Village of Buffalo
Grove or upon perimeter fencing adjacent to the Buffalo Grove Golf Club, owned by the Village of Buffalo Grove,
with a maximum size of 36" x 360" are hereby authorized and said banners hereby qualify as public signs pursuant
to Section 14.36.010.M of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. This
Ordinance shall not be codified.

The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. 2008.21,
including the Ordinance and a sheet thereof, was
Prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted
in and at the Village Hall, commencing on April 21,
2008 and continuing for at least ten days thereafter.
Copies of such Ordinance were also available for
public inspection upon request in the Office of
Village Clerk.
