2007-063ORDINANCE NO. 2007- 63 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 10.04, VEHICLE LICENSES, OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and WHEREAS, effective since 1977, a fee was imposed on all passenger vehicles, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, and commercial trucks, having an address registered to the Village of Buffalo Grove through the Illinois Secretary of State's Office: and WHEREAS, all efforts were untaken by village staff to ensure that every resident for whom the fees were applicable were compliant in the purchase of a sticker(s); and WHEREAS, the Village Vehicle Sticker Program is considered inefficient in the collection of fees due and to attempt to attain full compliance is cost prohibitive; and WHEREAS, the Village seeks to maximize the efficacy of taxes and/or fees charged to both residents and nonresidents and create efficiencies in the management and administration of all sources of revenue, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, the following: Section 1. Chapter 10.04 of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code is repealed. Section 2. Chapter 10.04 is repealed effective May 1, 2008 to coincide with the expiration date of the current FY 2007 -2008 sticker registration cycle. Section 3.. I further certify that on October 15, 2007 the Corporate Authorities of the Village passed and approved Ordinance No. 2007 -63 entitled: AN ORDINANCE, RESCINDING CHAPTER 10.04, VEHICLE LICENSES, OF THE BUFALO GROVE MUNICIPAL CODE provided by its terms that it should be published in pamphlet form. The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. 2007 -63, including the Ordinance and a sheet thereof, was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted in and at the Village Hall, commencing on October 16, 2007 and continuing for at least ten days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also available for public inspection upon request in the Office of Village Clerk.
