ORDINANCE NO. 2007 - 18
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE
TITLE 17 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS
Amendment to Section 17.28.060.C. concerning procedures for re- authorization
of a special use for a child day care home
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois
Constitution of 1970; and,
WHEREAS, the Village has determined that a text amendment to the Village Zoning
Ordinance, Title 17 of the Buffalo Grove Municipal Code, is necessary concerning the
procedures for re- authorization of special uses granted to operate child day care homes; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Plan Commission conducted a public hearing on February 21,
2007 concerning said amendment and determined that the proposed amendment is appropriate to
properly regulate child day care homes, and the Plan Commission has forwarded its findings and
recommendations to the Village Board
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1. Subsection C. of Section 17.28.060. of the Village of Buffalo Grove
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
C. The special use is valid for a period of two years. A day care provider must re-
apply for special use authorization pursuant to the requirements of this Section
17.28.060. The Village shall review the performance of the day care provider in
determining if the special use shall be re- authorized for another two -year period.
The Village may require a public hearing and recommendation by the Village
Plan Commission prior to determining if the re- authorization shall be granted.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication. This ordinance may be published in pamphlet form.
