ORDINANCE NO. 2004- 85
An Ordinance Amending Chapter 6.08 of the
Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code pertaining to Impoundment
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit by virtue of the
provisions of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and
WHEREAS, permit fees have not been increased since 1997, and the Village has
determined an increase in the daily impound fee is necessary to offset the escalated costs to
administer this component of the animal impound program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF. BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE
COUNTIES, ILLINOIS:
Chapter 6.08
IMPOUNDMENT
SECTION 1: Subsection C. of Section 6.08.030 of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
C. Any other animal impounded under the provisions of this Title may be redeemed at
the Animal Control Center by the owner within five days of impoundment, upon the
payment of the following fees made payable to the Village:
1. Twenty -five dollars per day or part thereof for each animal; and
2. One hundred dollars for animals not wearing a current license tag, plus
payment of the license fee if the animal is unlicensed;
3. Fifty dollars for dogs running at large;
4. One hundred dollars for second and subsequent offenses of a dog running at
large.
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication. This Ordinance may be published in pamphlet form.

ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.08 OF THE
VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE MUNICIPAL CODE
PERTAINING TO IMPOUNDMENT provided by its terms
that it should be published in pamphlet form.
The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. 2004 -85,
including the Ordinance and a sheet thereof, was
prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted
in and at the Village Hall, commencing August 31,
2004, and continuing for at least ten days thereafter.
Copies of such Ordinance were also available for
public inspection upon request in the Office of
Village Clerk.
