ORDINANCE NO. 2001-17
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13.12 OF THE
VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE MUNICIPAL CODE
CONCERNING STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove has previously established stormwater
management regulations which have proven to result in the construction of effective and
high quality stormwater management systems, and
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove desires to amend its stormwater
management regulations to provide for a Fee -in -Lieu contribution when certain criteria
are met.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Village President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1, Section 13.12.060 of the Buffalo Grove Municipal Code is amended to
read, as follows:
13.12.060 Combination of Storage and Controlled Release — Required Where.
A. A, combination of storage and controlled release of stormwater runoff is required
for all developments; however, a Fee -in -Lieu contribution shall be required for all
developments that fall below the on -site detention thresholds as specified in the Lake
County Watershed Development Ordinance. All developments must have an adequate
outlet as identified by the Village Engineer. If the outlet is not adequate, then detention,
as determined by the Village Engineer, will be required to store that portion of the runoff
exceeding the outlet capacity.
The amount of the Fee -in -Lieu contribution shall be Thirty -six Thousand Dollars
($36,000.00) per acre -foot of storage required pursuant to this section.
B. Redevelopment, with new impervious which exceeds the on -site detention
threshold, may be considered for Fee -in -Lieu detention only if the redevelopment is
tributary to an existing stormwater management facility that has adequate downstream
capacity, as determined by the Village Engineer.
Section 2: The validity of any section, clause, sentence; or provision of this
Ordinance shall not affect the validity of any other part of this Ordinance which can be
given effect without such invalid part or parts.

Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
passage, signing, approval, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
