2014-06-16 - Ordinance 2014-041 - CONCERNING PREVAILING WAGESWHEREAS, the General Assembly of the State of Illinois has enacted the Prevailing
Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/1 et seq. ("Act") and
WHEREAS, the Act requires that all Illinois governmental entities, including home rule
units of local governinent, either accept the prevailing wages determined by the Illinois
Department of Labor or investigate and ascertain the prevailing rate of wages as defined in the
Act for workers employed to perform work on public works construction projects in the locality
in which the work is performed,

grading and the general landscaping of wrecked structures. Landscape construction work is
covered by the prevailing wage schedule promulgated by the Illinois Department of Labor,
attached to this Ordinance. Landscaping work of all types performed by Village employees is
excluded from coverage.
SECTION FOUR: Nothing contained in this Ordinance shall be construed to apply the
general prevailing rate of wages to any work or employment except public works construction of
the Village to the extent required by the Act.
SECTION FIVE: The Village Clerk shall publicly post or keep available for inspection,
by any interested party in the main office of the Village, this determination or any revisions of
such prevailing rate of wage. A copy of this determination or of the current revised
determination of prevailing rate of wages then in effect shall be attached to or referenced in all
contract specifications .
SECTION SIX: The Village Clerk shall mail a copy of this determination to any
employer, and to any association of employers and to any person or association of employees
who have filed their names and addresses, requesting copies of any determination stating the
particular rates and the particular class of workers whose wages will be affected by such rates.
SECTION SEVEN: The Village Clerk shall promptly file a certified copy of this
*rdinance with and the Department of Labor of the State of Illinois.
SECTION EIGHT: The Village Clerk shall cause to be published in a newspaper of
general circulation within the area, a copy of this Ordinance, and such publication shall
constitute notice that the determination is effective and that this is the determination of the
Village.
